Lakes Cross Country

Lakes will rejoin the South Puget Sound League in 2008, along with Clover Park and Peninsula High School. The SPSL is where Lakes competed until the advent of the WIAA 4A classification. Lakes will renew old rivalries from the SPSL and PCL with Sumner, White River, Enumclaw, Bonney Lake, Franklin Pierce, Peninsula. Auburn Mountainview and Clover Park will round out the league.

The Lancers finished the season on a positive note with numerous awards. The boys, girls, and boys JV teams took second in the Western Cascade Conference. Seth B. was League MVP, and Coach Clark was a girls co-coach of the year. Thaddeus M. and Kaitlyn . were named to the WCC 1st team. Academically, over 50 % of the team achieved all league honors. The boys and girls teams took 10th and 11th respectively in the Westside Classic. Seth Bridges finished 5th, and moved on to the state meet where he finished 11th and was named to the Senior All Star Team. Both teams are returning a stron core and are looking for even better things in 2008.
The Lancers started out the season with a bang at the incredibly fast Capital Invite, held at Capital Lake this year. Seth Bridges took second overall, with the top 3A boys mark behind friend and rival Miles Untereiner of Gig Harbor. Results
They're back. The Lancer boys and girls proved that they are ready to race this year with strong performances at the Western Cascade Conference preview meet this year. Seth B. led the way with a victory, followed by strong performances from Thaddeus M., Matt e>, Chris M., Scott Hines, AJ H>, and Isiah A.. Katie K. led the girls team, followed by Micaela R. Courtney B, Katrina A, Taylor K., Hailey k., and Rachel P. Results.
Seth B. becomes the fastest Lakes Cross Country runner since Curt Corvin with his outstanding 15:35 at the 2007 Fort Steilacoom Invitational. Over 50 teams took part on a day that saw several lancers make big improvements since last year. Varsity newcomers Chris M.and AJ H. continued to make progress. On the girls side, all returning runners significant time improvements, and the our freshman girls showed they are ready to step up to the big time.
