Camp Information

The South Sound Cross Country Camp is a day camp for runners of all abilities. The camp was developed by a group of top high school coaches in the South Sound to meet the needs of local middle and high school cross country runners and is open to athletes from 7th through 12th grades. Our goal is to provide a quality instructional camp for those athletes unable to go to an overnight camp, as well as those seeking an additional running camp opportunity.

Camp Setting

The camp will be located at Lakes High School and Fort Steilacoom Park. Fort Steilacoom Park is one of the finer running areas in the South Sound and it is on the Fort Steilacoom trails that South Sound Cross Country Camp runners will do the majority of their training. There are miles of trails in the park, with terrain ranging from flat trails through the meadows to steep and challenging hills. The park is the site of several major cross-country meets every year, including the Fort Steilacoom Invitational, Narrows League& Western Cascade Conference meets.Runners will also have access to daily ice baths, and cross training equipment. Every year numerous campers have been represented at the state meet as well as Borderclash, Nike Nationals, and Footlocker.
