Coaching Staff
Lakes Boys & Girls Cross Country teams operate together with a combined coaching staff. Joe Clark and Curt Corvin are the head coaches, with the assistance of Wayne Bridges, Amy Williams, and Matt Corvin.
Joe Clark has been a cross-country coach at Lakes for 18 years, the past 15 as head coach. He is also the girls head track coach at Lakes. He was a cross-country and track athlete at Bellevue Community College and the University of Puget Sound (X/C only). Joe was voted the league Boys Coach of the Year in 1999, 2000, & 2001, & 2011, and Girls Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003, 2005, & 2007. Coach Clark is also the meet director for the Fort Steilacoom Invitational and the Westside Classic and President of the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association. Contact Coach Clark.
Curt Corvin is in his sixth year with the program, moving up to co-head coach a couple years ago. Prior to "officially" joining the coaching staff, Curt had been a long time helper with the program. Curt was a Cross Country and Track state champion while at Lakes and a three time all american as well. Curt went on to an All American career at the University of Washington.
Wayne Bridges joined the staff as a volunteer assitant four years ago after his son Seth graduated and went on to an All American career at Northwest University. Wayne as a Lakes alumni who ran track in the 70's for Coach Logan. This year wayne became a paid assistant. Wayne works with all athletes, but focuses on the boys JV on meet days.
Amy Williams is in her first year as an assistant coach at Lakes. She is also our pole vault coach during track season. Amy works with all athletes, but focuses on the girls team on meet days.
Matt Corvin was a volunteer assistant this year, helping out with the boys varsity in particular. Matt ran at lakes for four years, and is planning on continuig his running at Central Washington University during the spring of 2012.
